Car Rental – Damage Management Policy

What Happens If a Rental Car Is Damaged?

At Tripyzo.com, most travelers enjoy a smooth and safe rental experience, and vehicle damage incidents are uncommon. However, if a rental vehicle is damaged during your rental period, it is important to understand how the situation will be handled.
To maintain transparency and clarity, Tripyzo provides a Damage Management Policy outlining how vehicle damage is assessed and how any applicable charges may be applied. Customers are encouraged to review this policy together with our Terms & Conditions to fully understand their responsibilities.

Your Financial Responsibility

Depending on the protection plan or coverage selected at the time of booking, your financial responsibility for damage may be limited or completely covered.
Since coverage options vary by provider and rental agreement, we strongly recommend reviewing the rental terms carefully to understand your level of protection before completing your booking.

Types of Vehicle Damage

Light Damage

Minor cosmetic damage such as small dents, scratches, paint chips, or surface marks. This category may also include loss, theft, or damage to vehicle accessories, documents, or keys.

Tyre Replacement

Applies when damage to a tyre requires a complete replacement rather than a simple repair.

Serious Damage

Any damage that does not fall within the Light Damage or Tyre Replacement categories. This may include structural damage or issues affecting the vehicle’s performance or safety.

Total Loss

Occurs when the vehicle is damaged beyond repair or when repair is considered impractical or economically unfeasible.

Vehicle Inspection at Return

When the rental vehicle is returned, it will be inspected by the rental provider, typically in the presence of the customer.

If Light Damage Is Identified
  • An invoice will be issued outlining the applicable damage charges.
  • By signing the vehicle return report, the renter acknowledges the damage identified during inspection.
  • A Light Damage Administration Fee may be applied in accordance with the rental provider’s policy.
If Serious Damage or Total Loss Is Identified

The following documentation may be provided:

  • A vehicle return report describing the damage
  • Photographic evidence documenting the condition of the vehicle
  • An invoice detailing applicable charges, which may include:
    • Administration fees for serious damage or tyre/windscreen damage
    • Engineer or inspection assessment fees (excluding tyre or windscreen cases)
    • Repair costs or loss-related charges as determined by the rental provider

Important Note

All damage assessments, repair decisions, and applicable charges are determined by the rental provider according to their rental agreement and policies. Tripyzo.com acts as a booking platform and does not directly control damage evaluation or associated costs.
Customers are encouraged to carefully review all rental terms and insurance coverage options before confirming a car rental booking through Tripyzo.
